Despite the Bugatti Chiron’s outstanding stats, I don’t think of it as a car very frequently. For all its importance in my life, it might be a racehorse. I’m not sure what’s going on with the car’s lineup, which seems to be more of a toy for the wealthy than a mode of mobility.
Take the Chiron Pur Sport, for example. In the face of 1,479 horsepower (1,500 PS/1,103 kW), what can a few degrees of camber, a few pounds less weight, and some firmer springs do?
Well, a lot, it turns out – at least, according to Mat Watson of Carwow, who recently released his assessment of the Chiron Pur Sport and believes it to be an amazing vehicle.
“It already seems a little more dramatic than the [Chiron] Super Sport, even when you’re going along gently,” he adds. “You have that stiffer suspension — it’s not unpleasant, but you do notice the bumps a little more.”

Despite the fact that Bugatti’s weight-saving efforts totaled just 50 kg (110 lbs) (the same amount of weight that the fixed-rear wing adds), their efforts were worthwhile. The vehicle sounds more like a race car with less soundproofing, and the firmer suspension makes it seem a little more thrilling.
Meanwhile, the increased camber makes it more eager to turn in, and the lighter steering makes the entire vehicle feel lighter than, say, the Chiron Super Sport. Meanwhile, the altered gear ratios make it a considerably quicker accelerating car, all of which adds up to a car that feels a lot more exhilarating than past Chirons.
“This is the Chiron to go for in terms of simply [explitives] and giggles,” Watson adds. “It feels like a lightweight sports vehicle, not an utterly insane eight-liter, 16-cylinder, quad-turbo, two-tonne, four-wheel-drive monster,” says the author. This gadget just rearranges your brain.”
